Single Chamber Melting/Holding Furnaces

Single chamber melting furnaces are specially designed according to customer requests. It is used for melting primary solid aluminium & scraps. It is produced as fixed or tiltable. To achieve efficient combustion, the exhaust gas temperature is used to heat the combustion air thanks to the regenerative system. In addition, it has a sealed door design that can be opened completely into the oven bath, which provides convenience in terms of cleaning, loading and maintenance. Door controls are provided hydraulically or pneumatically.

Capacity: 1 – 150 Tons

Melting Rate: 2–20 tons/hour

Energy Consumption: 500–750 kWh/Ton Al

Furnaces can be equipped with peripheral equipment such as scrap loading vehicles, electromagnetic stirrers, porous plug systems, laser level control systems, O2 injection systems.

The furnace consists of 2 or 3 chambers. Chamber No. 1 is designed for charging with sows, ingots, and big bundles of scrap. The main burners are in this chamber as a source of heat for the melting process. Chamber No. 2 so called side well is a chamber designed for melting of small bundles of scrap and loose scrap. The melting process takes place with a high stream of hot molten metal created by the electromagnetic pump. System uses the waste gases as a source of heating energy.

These furnaces used for melting of scrap efficiently and cost-effectively at high melting rates. It is built for scrap material like painted profiles with thermal break, baled litho sheets, UBC (used beverage cans), etc. containing up to 8 percent organic compounds. The scrap chamber ramp can be charged with several batch loads. This results in a melting capacity of up 10 tons per hour with very low specific energy consumption of 500 kilowatt-hour per ton of aluminium.
